Riverview Public Boat Ramp Reopens On Black Warrior River

Officials have reopened the Riverview Public Boat Ramp on the Black Warrior River near Tuscaloosa.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR)Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries (WFF) Division has reopened the Riverview Public Boat Ramp on the Black Warrior River near Tuscaloosa.

This comes after the completion of a major facility upgrade during a temporary closure after the launching slab was damaged. The launching slab has since been replaced.

The state says it has partnered with the City of Tuscaloosa to repave the existing parking lot and install a new access pier in the coming months.

The additional improvements will be completed in phase, with the facility temporarily closing when the repaving project begins.

ADCNR says partial funding for the project was provided through the Sport Fish Restoration Program, which is supported through excise taxes on the sale of outboard motor fuel, fishing equipment and the sale of Alabama fishing licenses.

Additional funding for the project was provided by Innovate Alabama — a statewide public-private partnership focused on entrepreneurship, technology and innovation with a mission to help businesses grow roots in Alabama.
