TUSCALOOSA, AL — The National Weather Service office in Birmingham has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for southwest Tuscaloosa County until 8:30 p.m. Wednesday evening.

The NWS says the severe storm is currently in the area of Shelton State Community College in the southern part of the county and is nearly stationary at present.

Meteorologist and storm spotters are reporting this storm could produce quarter-sized hail and wind gusts up to 60 mph.

Due to lightning in the area, the Black Crowes concert was delayed Wednesday evening at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater.
