Severe Thunderstorm Watch For Tuscaloosa County Until 11 PM Thursday
The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Tuscaloosa County and much of west Alabama.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The National Weather Service office in Birmingham has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Tuscaloosa County and a large segment of west Alabama until 11 p.m. Thursday night.

The NWS says the severe weather system could bring hail up to a half inch in size, scattered wind gusts up to 70 mph and frequent lightning.

As of 4 p.m., the NWS reports that doppler radar is tracking a line of strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Dallas to near Oakman to near Pickensville. The storm system was last moving southeast at 15 mph.
The watch area includes the cities of Northport and Tuscaloosa, along with the University of Alabama campus, Shelton State Community College and Stillman College.
