SSCC says the announcement comes after the Alabama Community College Conference’s (ACCC) decided to add the sport to its conference lineup — making it the largest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) state athletic member conference to offer the sport.

SSCC Athletics points out that women’s flag football has exploded in popularity in recent years and will provide a pathway for female athletes to continue competing after high school.
