Shelton State's Nekolna Named NJCAA All-American
Shelton State Community College women's basketball sophomore center Julie Nekolna has been named a First-Team All-American.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Shelton State Community College women's basketball sophomore center Julie Nekolna has been named to the 2025 NJCAA Division I First-Team All-American team.

The 2025 Alabama Community College Conference Player of the Year is the seventh Shelton State player to earn first team All-American accolades, joining Meghan Dunn, Tiyah Johnson, Cierra Johnson (a two-time selection), Nya Valentine and Adrianna Jones as the first team honorees.

The honor also marks 14 All-America selections under head coach Madonna Thompson.
Nekolna led the conference in scoring and field goal percentage, starting all 34 games and leading the Bucs with 14.6 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.

She also led the Lady Bucs to the 2025 NJCAA National Championship Game during the season, marking a first in program history.
