Sitar Indian Express Returns With New Tuscaloosa Location

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A popular Tuscaloosa culinary staple officially opened its new location Tuesday.

Sitar Indian Express, which was previously located at the intersection of 15th Street and Hackberry Lane, has now set up shop in its new restaurant at 1825 McFarland Boulevard in the Northridge Center.

The restaurant closed in the spring of 2021 as the owner of the development moved in a different direction with the property that was previously home to the Bama Lanes bowling alley, Ichiban Japanese Grill and Sitar.

The new Sitar Indian Express location features its same beloved menu, some new culinary additions, a limited seating area and an express pick-up window.

Sitar Indian Express is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. until 8:30 p.m.

Buffet service will be offered Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., while dinner service will be available from 5 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.
