Theatre Tuscaloosa To Host 'Ghost Stories At The Drish' Dinner Theatre Reading

Theatre Tuscaloosa is gearing up to host "Ghost Stories at the Drish: A Dinner Reading" from Nov. 19 to 21 at The Historic Drish House.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Theatre Tuscaloosa is gearing up to host “Ghost Stories at the Drish: A Dinner Reading” from Nov. 19 to 21 at The Historic Drish House.

Hosted at one of Alabama's most haunted locations, the event will feature dramatic readings from the iconic book “13 Alabama Ghosts and Jeffrey” by Kathryn Tucker Windham and Margaret Gillis Figh.

Audience members will hearing chilling tales such as “Death Lights in the Tower,” which will be brought to life by local actors.

A catered dinner by Snap Decisions will also be provided, along with a cash bar available for guests ages 21 and up.

Returning performers include Averie Bonneville, Porsche K. Jenkins, NorQuina Rieves, and Ernie Turley, alongside newcomer Ross Vaughn and seasoned cast members Drew Baker and Gary Wise.

“This event marks the first dramatic reading of ‘Death Lights in the Tower’ at the Drish,” Director and Executive Producer of Theatre Tuscaloosa Tina Turley said. “Adapting Windham and Gillis Figh’s stories for this setting is both exciting and terrifying. It gives me chills just thinking about performing in the place where it actually happened.”

Performances will begin at 7 p.m. each evening, with seating for 10 at each table.

Patrons will be assigned tables upon ticket purchase, with tickets priced at $50 for ages 13 and up.
