A woman from St. Clair County was killed early Tuesday in a single-vehicle crash on Alabama Highway 69 in Northport.

NORTHPORT, AL — A woman from St. Clair County was killed early Tuesday in a single-vehicle crash on Alabama Highway 69 in Northport.

Northport Police Department Assistant Chief Keith Carpenter said officers, firefighters and NorthStar Ambulance crews responded at about 1:37 a.m. to the 4900 block of Highway 69 North, where they found a 2025 Chevrolet Trax off the east side of the roadway.

The vehicle had left the road and collided with the brick sign at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home.

Carpenter said the driver, 20-year-old McKenzie Miller, was pronounced dead at the scene.

He then said she was the only occupant of the vehicle.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the NPD's Traffic Reconstruction Unit.
