Stillman Forward, York Native Earns HBCUAC Newcomer Of The Week

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Stillman College forward Calvin Finch, Jr. on Tuesday was named the Historically Black Universities and Colleges Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Newcomer of the Week.

Finch, a senior from Sumter County, posted 16 points, 11 rebounds, three blocks and two assists in a dominant win against the University of the Virgin Islands in the HBCUAC East and West Crossover Tournament

Fince followed up that performance with 13 points, 15 rebounds, a block, a steal and an assist in an overtime win against Wiley University.

He is presently averaging 14.8 points and 10 rebounds a game.

Stillman College will return to action on the road in Wilberforce, Ohio to face the Wilberforce University Bulldogs on January 9 starting at 6:30 p.m.
