Stillman Names Finch As Interim Sports information Director

Stillman College Athletics on Monday announced it has appointed Nicholas J. Finch as its interim director of sports information.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Stillman College Athletics on Monday announced it has appointed Nicholas J. Finch as its interim director of sports information.

Finch will take the place of Chris Megginson, who was named the college's director of strategic communications in October 2024.

“I am excited for this opportunity to continue to serve my mother’s alma mater and grow Stillman College’s athletics footprint across the nation,” Finch said. “I’m thankful to AD Whittle and Assistant AD Ashley Curry for putting their faith in me for this role. I’m confident my experience in my craft can carry athletics communications forward in a positive direction.”

Finch has served as the college's athletic department coordinator for compliance, game day operations, and facilities since September 2022.

“I am pleased that Mr. Finch has accepted the role of interim director of sports information,” Stillman College Director of Athletics Terrance Whittle said. “I look forward to Mr. Finch using his skills and talents to help continue the work of moving our athletics media platform to being one of the top college sports media platforms in the NAIA.”

Finch is a native of Toddtown, Alabama, in Clarke County and graduated from the University of West Alabama in 2013 with a degree in integrated marketing communications.

His sports media career has included stops as sports editor at The Choctaw Sun-Advocate and reporter at The Demopolis Times and Blackbelt Gazette. Finch also earned multiple awards from the Alabama Press Association for video advertising, spot news, layout design and sports coverage.

Finch returned to UWA in 2017 as assistant sports information director, where he was the primary contact for several sports, including soccer, basketball, and softball.

Finch also co-hosts the “True Comedy Podcast,” which is ranked the No. 2 comedy podcast in Alabama by FeedSpot.

In terms of his community involvement, Finch is a board member for the Kristen Amerson Youth Foundation and a recruiter for Delta Chi Fraternity.

Finch and his wife, Whitney, are residents of Tuscaloosa.
