Stillman Standout, Brookwood Native Earns SSAC Pitcher Of The Week

TUSCALOOSA, AL —Brookwood native and Stillman College senior pitcher Lexi McCray has been named the Southern States Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week following a 3-0 performance last week.

McCray is the third Stillman player to receive weekly honors this season, joining Lauren Haskins and Madison Bubel, who were SSAC Player of the Week the first two weeks of the season.

During her last successful stretch, McCray posted a 0.98 ERA over 21.1 innings.

McCray also posted a 3-0 record through four appearances and logged two complete-game starts.

McCray three-hit shutout in 3-0 win against Williams Baptist College on March 4 and hurled a complete-game win at Blue Mountain Christian University in Stillman's SSAC opener March 9.

She then worked 3.1 innings of shutout relief on Sunday for a win at Tennessee Southern to push Stillman's win streak to an NAIA-leading 19 games.

Additionally, McCray pitched in relief during Stillman's 8-4 loss to UT Southern, giving the Tigers the chance to rally.

The honor for McCray is the second-career weekly honor for the Tuscaloosa County native, who was named SSAC Pitcher of the Week once in 2023.
