Suspect Charged After Fatal Shooting On Herman Avenue

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A suspect is in custody after a man was killed and another person injured in a shooting during a party Saturday morning in the 2200 block of Herman Avenue.

As Patch previously reported, Tuscaloosa Police officers responded to the scene at 1:30 a.m. and found two subjects had been shot.

Following an investigation, Weslie Darnell Tinker, 28, is charged with one count of murder and was booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail with no bond.

After both victims were transported to the hospital, Jordan Davis, 28, died from his injuries, while a second 45-year-old victim suffered injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said shooting occurred during an altercation at a private residence during a party.

Investigators processed evidence and Kennedy said all the individuals involved in the incident were identified and located.
