Suspect Charged With Murder After Fatal Shooting On Reece Boulevard

A Tuscaloosa man has been charged with murder after a 19-year-old was died from gunshot wounds from a shooting Monday night.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A Tuscaloosa man has been charged with murder after a 19-year-old man died from gunshot wounds sustained during a shooting Monday night on Reece Boulevard.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said 19-year-old Tyler Colenzo Colvin was charged with the single count of murder and booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail on Tuesday without bond.

As Patch previously reported, Tuscaloosa Police officers and Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit investigators responded around 9 p.m. Monday night to the 2200 block of Reece Boulevard on the initial call of a shooting.

In an update Tuesday morning, investigators said 19-year-old Christopher King Jr. was found with critical gunshot wounds and ultimately did not survive his injuries.

Kennedy said in a separate update that evidence found during the investigation shows that the shooting occurred during an altercation while conducting a drug transaction.
