Suspect In Custody After Shooting Injures One In Holt Thursday

A man has been charged with attempted murder after one person was injured in a shooting in Holt Thursday afternoon.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A man has been charged with attempted murder after one person was injured in a shooting in Holt Thursday afternoon.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, told local media that the Tuscaloosa Police Department and Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office responded at approximately 4 p.m. after a 21-year-old male victim had driven himself to DCH.

Kennedy said the scene of the shooting was found to be in the area of the 900 block of 44th Avenue East in Holt.

Keyon Haythan Bourque, 23, was charged with attempted murder after investigators processed the scene, speaking with the victims and witnesses, and recovering video evidence.

Kennedy said the suspect and victim had been in a verbal altercation before the shooting and Bourque was located by the US Marshall’s Task Force Friday.

Bourque's bond has not been set at this time and he remains in the Tuscaloosa County Jail.
