Suspect In Custody After Tuscaloosa Man Killed In Shooting At Creekwood Village

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A Tuscaloosa man is charged with murder after a man was killed in an overnight shooting at a Tuscaloosa apartment complex.

As Patch previously reported, Tuscaloosa Police responded Saturday night to the initial shooting call at Creekwood Village Apartments on 40th Avenue.

Captain Marty Sellers of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit told local media Sunday morning that once on the scene, officers found 22-year-old Marquise Scott of Tuscaloosa, dead from multiple gunshot wounds inside of an apartment.

Sellers went on to say that witnesses and a suspect were interviewed and evidence collected that ultimately led to Lagabriel Jones being charged with murder.

Sellers said Scott and Jones were acquaintances who have had problems with one another in the past.

Jones is being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail without bond.
