Suspect Named, Victim Identified After Fatal Shooting At Tuscaloosa Apartments

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, told local media on Wednesday that Cornelius Terell Smith, 37, was identified as the victim after the Tuscaloosa Police Department responded to the initial call of a shooting the morning of Dec. 11 at Forrester Gardens on James I. Harrison Jr. Parkway.

Kennedy then said Cedric McClinton Jr., 50, was determined to be a suspect and arrest warrants were obtained for one count of murder, one count of attempted murder and discharging/shooting into an unoccupied vehicle.
Kennedy went on to say that McClinton is actively being sought by local law enforcement.
