TCSS Dispels Rumors Of Active Shooter At Hillcrest Middle School

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa County School System says rumors circulating of an active shooter at Hillcrest Middle School are untrue.

In a call to TCSS parents Thursday morning, school system officials quickly discredited the rumors and said there is no active threat to the school.

"This is false information and is a rumor being spread through social media," the school system said in a message.

It is unclear at this time what prompted the rumors.
