Theatre Tuscaloosa To Host Surplus Fabric Giveaway Next Month
Theatre Tuscaloosa on Tuesday announced it will host a Surplus Fabric Giveaway from Dec. 4-6
TUSCALOOSA, AL — Theatre Tuscaloosa on Tuesday announced it will host a Surplus Fabric Giveaway from Dec. 4-6 in the dressing rooms of the Bean-Brown Theatre on Shelton State Community College's Martin Campus.

Theatre Tuscaloosa says the giveaway is part of its efforts to streamline its inventory ahead of a planned relocation of its costume shop during ongoing renovations.

The event will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 4 and 5, and from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Dec. 6, in rooms 2914 and 2915 of the Bean-Brown Theatre.
Theater costumer Jeanette Waterman encouraged attendees to come prepared to browse the wide assortment of fabrics.

“We are so lucky at Theatre Tuscaloosa to have a surplus of material, but I will need help culling my inventory before moving to a new space,” Waterman said. “I have loads of great material, so be prepared to dig.”
Organizers said the giveaway will feature a variety of fabrics in all colors, types, and sizes, with no restrictions on how much attendees can take.
Participants are asked to bring their own bags.
Theatre Tuscaloosa Executive Producer Tina Turley described the event as an opportunity to both clear space and share resources with the community.
“Out with the old, in with the new!” Turley said. “I am thrilled we are doing this event to help Jeanette organize and clean the costume shop before moving to a new space.”
