TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Alabama men's basketball team (20-3, 9-1 SEC) snagged the top spot in the latest Coaches Poll, which follows a narrow road win over Arkansas on Saturday.

Alabama being ranked No. 1 is also thanks in part to previously top-ranked Auburn's home loss to No. 6 Florida over the weekend.

Before the highly anticipated matchup between Alabama and Auburn (21-2, 9-1 SEC) on Saturday, Feb. 15 in Tuscaloosa, The Crimson Tide will have complete its road trip against the Texas Longhorns (15-9, 4-7 SEC) Tuesday night in Austin.

Auburn will also take on Vanderbilt (17-6, 5-5 SEC) Tuesday night in Nashville.

Goin back to 1924, Alabama leads the all-time series with its in-state rival, 100-68, including a record of 6-4 in the last 10 matchups.

The rivals split their pair of matchups last season, both winning on their home courts as Auburn won the final game 99-81 in Neville Arena.

As Patch previously reported, ESPN College Gameday will be in Tuscaloosa for Saturday's Iron Bowl of Basketball, with the game set to tipoff at 3 p.m.
