During the 2024 season, Koht's most notable action came against Wisconsin, when he tallied three tackles in the win, and against Georgia when he recorded half of a quarterback sack.
"I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been a part of my journey here at the University of Alabama-my coaches, staff, teammates, and supporters," Koht said on his Instagram page Tuesday. "The lessons I've learned, the relationships I've built, and the experiences I've gained during my time here are truly priceless, and I will carry them with me throughout my life.

"After careful reflection and consideration, I've come to realize that I've outgrown the shoes I once wore here," he added. "With that in mind, I have made the decision to enter my name into the transfer portal, with two years of eligibility remaining. This was not an easy choice, but it's one I believe is best for my future and personal growth. To the Alabama community, thank you for your unwavering support and encouragement throughout my time here. The wisdom, knowledge, and values I've gained will always remain with me as I continue my journey."
Koht recorded four tackles, including 1.5 for loss, in his three games of action last season, making appearances against Middle Tennessee, Kentucky and Chattanooga.
As a redshirt freshman in 2022, Koht split time between special teams and defense in four games.
Koht played defensive end in high school and was rated as a four-star recruit on the 247Composite and also by 247Sports and ESPN.com, in addition to being ranked No. 64 nationally by 247Sports, No. 5 at defensive end and the No. 11 player from Florida.
