Tide's Alton Davis II Earns Preseason All-SEC Second Team Nod

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Southeastern Conference announced University of Alabama pitcher Alton Davis II has been named a preseason All-SEC Second Team honoree.

The honor was voted upon by SEC coaches, who also picked The Crimson Tide to finish fourth in the Western Division and eighth overall in the conference.

The sophomore from Hueytown posted a stellar freshman campaign as Crimson Tide's primary closer, appearing in 25 games out of the bullpen and posting a 1-2 record and eight saves — leading the team and finishing second for saves in the SEC.

Over those 25 appearances, Davis carved out a 2.76 ERA with six saves against SEC opponents.
