Tide's Kayla Beaver Hurls No-Hitter To Open 2024 Season
The graduate transfer made a pretty big splash in her very first game in an Alabama uniform, throwing a no-hitter Thursday.

TUSCALOOSA, AL β Alabama softball graduate transfer pitcher Kayla Beaver made a major splash in her Crimson Tide debut Thursday, tossing a no-hitter against Villanova in a 3-0 win for Alabama's first game of the season.

A native of Jackson, Tennessee, who transferred to UA from Central Arkansas, Beaver hurled a complete seven innings, logging 14 strikeouts and only one walk on 101 pitches.

It was the 46th no-hitter in program history.
Beaver was a 2023 USA Softball Player of the Year Finalist and also finished the season ranked third nationally with eleven shutouts.

Alabama will continue its season-opening play in the Buzz Classic in Atlanta on Friday with a 10 a.m. game against Longwood.
