Tide's Mark Sears Named AP Second Team All-American

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Alabama senior guard Mark Sears on Monday was named to the 2024 Associated Press All-America second team.

The UA basketball program says the honor marks the second straight year Alabama has had a player earn AP All-America honors after Brandon Miller last season.

Sears is one of three SEC players to be named to an AP All-America team and is also a finalist for the Bob Cousy Award — given annually to the top point guard in the country.

In addition to his Associated Press honor, Sears was a 2024 first team All- SEC selection and ranks first in the conference in scoring with 21.1 points per game.

Sears and the Crimson Tide will take on the College of Charleston Friday at 6:35 pm. local time in the first round of the 2024 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. The game will be broadcast on TruTV.
