Tornado Watch For Tuscaloosa County Until 7 P.M. Tuesday

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for a large part of west Alabama through the evening hours on Tuesday.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A large part of west Alabama, including Tuscaloosa County, has been placed under a Tornado Watch by the National Weather Service until 7 p.m. Tuesday.

This comes as a line of storms is expected to bring the potential for tornadoes, in addition to rainfall totals between 2-4 inches. Tuscaloosa County is also under a Flood Watch as of the publication of this story, along with a Wind Advisory issued for the middle part of the entire state ahead of the storm.

Sustained winds are anticipated to be between 10-20 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph possible.

Counties included in the current Tornado Watch include: Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Marengo, Marion, Pickens, Sumter, Tuscaloosa, Walker and Winston counties.
