TPD Identifies Tuscaloosa Man Killed By Train Tuesday

The Tuscaloosa Police Department has identified a Tuscaloosa man who was struck and killed by a train Tuesday afternoon.

TUSCALOOSA, AL β€” The Tuscaloosa Police Department has identified a Tuscaloosa man who was struck and killed by a train Tuesday afternoon.

TPD spokeswoman Stephanie Taylor told local media on Wednesday that the victim was identified as Darnell Williams, 49.

As Patch previously reported, police responded to the railroad track near 13th Street East and Dr. Edward Hillard Drive at 3:21 p.m. Tuesday.

Norfolk Southern Railway employees reported to TPD that the train was unable to avoid striking a man who was walking westbound on the track.
