Person Struck And Killed By Train In Tuscaloosa Tuesday Afternoon

The Tuscaloosa Police Department says officers are on the scene after a person was struck by a train Tuesday afternoon.

TUSCALOOSA, AL β€” The Tuscaloosa Police Department says officers are on the scene after a 49-year-old man was struck by a train and killed Tuesday afternoon.

TPD said the initial call came in at 3:21 p.m. from a Norfolk Southern Railroad employee who reported that a train had struck a person who was walking along the train tracks.

TPD went on to say that several officers in the area of McFarland Boulevard and Dr. Edward Hillard Drive as of the publication of this story.

Those in the area are advised by police that Dr. Edward Hillard Drive at 13th Street East near DCH will be closed for the next several hours.
