TPD Warns Of Scam Number Circulating On Social Media

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Police Department (TPD) is warning of a scam phone number circulating on social media.

TPD says the number is incorrectly presented as a line to file reports with the department before advising the community against using the number to submit a report.

What's more, TPD said the scam requests the caller's phone number before asking for personal information normally provided for a report.

The department also provided legitimate ways to file a report:

• Emergency: Call 911

• Non-Emergency: 205-349-2121

• In-Person: Visit TPD headquarters 24/7

• Online: Download TPD app or visit
