Tuscaloosa Accepting Toy Donations To Clear Parking Tickets

The city will be accepting toy donations for the holiday season in exchange for forgiving fees from parking tickets.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The City of Tuscaloosa, beginning on Monday, will begin accepting toy donations for the holiday season in exchange for forgiving fees from parking tickets.

In an announcement kicking off the annual toy drive, the city said Tuscaloosa residents can pay off $18 overtime parking tickets with a toy donation to Toys for Tots.

As part of the initiative, toys valued at $10 or more will clear a $18 parking ticket, while $20 or more will be accepted in place of two $18 parking tickets.

The City of Tuscaloosa says participants can bring toy donations to Tuscaloosa Municipal Court at 2122 Gary Fitts Street, between Nov. 4 and Dec. 5, along with a receipt for purchase or a price tag on the toy showing the value at $10 or more.
