Tuscaloosa Cameo Guild Gearing Up For Inaugural Paws & Paddles

The Tuscaloosa Cameo Guild on Friday announced it will host its inaugural "Paws and Paddles" fundraiser on Oct. 19.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Cameo Guild on Friday announced it will host its inaugural “Paws and Paddles” fundraiser on Oct. 19, combining a pickleball tournament with a pet costume contest to support scholarships and historic preservation projects.

The event will begin at 2 p.m. at the Buddy Powell Pavilion.

Proceeds will benefit the Tuscaloosa Cameo Guild Scholarship Program and Historic Tuscaloosa’s restoration initiatives.

Highlights include pickleball tournaments in two age divisions — 21 and under, and over 21 — along with a dog walk, pet costume contest, door prizes and awards for the top finishers in each competition.

The fundraiser is open to the public with ticketed admission. Pre-registration is required for all pickleball participants.
