Tuscaloosa City Schools (TCS) is currently hiring bus drivers for the 2025–26 school year, with positions set to begin in August.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa City Schools (TCS) is currently hiring bus drivers for the 2025–26 school year, with positions set to begin in August.

To fill the need for 10-15 drivers, the city school system is recruiting both experienced and new drivers.

“We’re looking for individuals who are dependable, safety-focused and ready to make a difference in the lives of our students,” TCS Superintendent Mike Daria said. “Our drivers are essential members of our school community.”

TCS said it offers competitive pay starting at $23.80 per hour, along with benefits such as health insurance, retirement and paid time off.

No prior experience is needed and TCS provides the training.
