Tuscaloosa To Host Seedling Giveaway For Arbor Week
The City of Tuscaloosa on Tuesday announced that it will give out over 1,500 bare root tree seedlings in honor of Arbor Week.
TUSCALOOSA, AL β The City of Tuscaloosa on Tuesday announced that it will give out over 1,500 bare root tree seedlings in honor of Arbor Week, thanks to a partnership with the Alabama Forestry Commission and Alabama Power.

The city says the tree seedling giveaway will be held at the Tuscaloosa River Market on Saturday, Feb. 24 from 7 a.m. until supplies run out.

Seedling types will include mulberry, pecan, dogwood, redbud, red maple, persimmon, yellow poplar, scarlet oak and others.
The giveaway will see seedlings of several different tree varieties offered on a first come, first-served basis.

Attendees are also encouraged to arrive early, due to the high demand expected.
The seedling giveaway will also include the opportunity to learn tree planting tips and proper tree placement.
