Tuscaloosa Hosting USA Diving Zone B Championships This Week

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Visit Tuscaloosa on Wednesday announced that the University of Alabama will host the 2025 USA Diving Zone B Championships this week.

One of the nation’s premier junior diving events, the championships will be held from June 5–8 at the Alabama Aquatic Center on the UA campus.

Visit Tuscaloosa says the competition serves as a qualifier for the USA Diving Junior National Championships in Mission Viejo, California later this summer and will feature approximately 200 elite divers, ages 11 to 18, from across the southeastern United States.
Events will include the 1-meter springboard, 3-meter springboard, and platform diving, with athletes qualifying through their respective regional championships to compete at Zone B, which encompasses parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and Florida.

“Tuscaloosa is honored to host the USA Diving Zone B Championship and welcome some of the nation’s most talented young athletes,” Senior Sports Sales and Event Development Manager Robins Bonner said. “Events like this highlight our strong partnership with The University of Alabama and the incredible support our city offers for competitive excellence. We look forward to athletes and their families enjoying all that Tuscaloosa has to offer during their stay.”
Bonner said the event began with official practice sessions Tuesday and Wednesday, which will be followed by four days of competition beginning Thursday morning and concluding Sunday.
“We are thrilled to welcome the USA Diving Zone B Championship and its athletes to Tuscaloosa,” UA Diving Coach Beau Bunn said. “Our city takes great pride in hosting top-tier athletic events, and we’re excited to showcase the University of Alabama’s world-class facilities and Southern hospitality to athletes, families and fans from across the region.”
