Tuscaloosa Man Dies After Motorcycle Wreck In Northport
The Northport Police Department says a Tuscaloosa man was killed Friday in a motorcycle accident on McFarland Boulevard.

NORTHPORT, AL — The Northport Police Department says a Tuscaloosa man is dead following a motorcycle accident Friday on McFarland Boulevard.

NPD Assistant Chief Keith Carpenter said on Friday at approximately 8:17 p.m., the accident was reported in the 3100 block of McFarland Boulevard in Northport.

He then said Northport Police, Fire and Rescue and NorthStar Ambulance responded to the scene where they located, in the westbound lanes, the accident involving a 2015 Yamaha Striker motorcycle and a 2003 Jeep Liberty.
"The preliminary investigation indicates that the Yamaha motorcycle and the Jeep Liberty were traveling west on McFarland Boulevard when the motorcycle struck the Jeep in the rear," Carptenter said.

Carpenter identified the driver of the Yamaha motorcycle as 39-year-old Matthew Bryan Mills of Tuscaloosa.
Mills was transported from the scene but died from his injuries.
Carpenter said the cause of the fatality accident is being investigated by Northport Police Department Traffic Reconstruction Unit and no criminal charges are pending at this time.
