Tuscaloosa Man Dies After Sunday Morning Crash Near Hueytown

A Tuscaloosa man is dead and another person is hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash Sunday morning on Interstate 59 near Hueytown.

TUSCALOOSA, AL β€” A Tuscaloosa man is dead and another person is hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash Sunday morning on Interstate 59 near Hueytown.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) says the crash occurred at approximately 7:58 a.m. Sunday when a 2020 Genesis G70 driven by George E. Bishop III, 22, of Tuscaloosa, left the roadway and struck a concrete barrier.

ALEA then said that after the initial impact, the Genisis overturned and struck a 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by a Vestavia resident.

Bishop was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham, where he died of his injuries. The other motorist was injured and transported to the Medical West Freestanding Emergency Department in Hoover for treatment.

The crash occurred roughly two miles south of Hueytown.
