Tuscaloosa Mayor Appoints Sarah Bridger Gilmore As Executive Director Of Strategic Communications
Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox on Monday announced the appointment of Sarah Bridger Gilmore as executive director of Strategic Communications.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox on Monday announced the appointment of Sarah Bridger Gilmore as executive director of Strategic Communications.

Bridger Gilmore's appointment became effective on Monday.

"Earning and maintaining the trust of people we serve begins with clear, effective communication," Maddox said. "Bridger Gilmore brings a fresh understanding of how to best tell our City's story and is exactly who we need to continue building a stronger connection to our community."
Maddox said Bridger Gilmore has over a decade of experience in public sector communications and joined the city in 2019 as a communications specialist before becoming the manager of public relations and external affairs.

Bridger Gilmore most recently served as the grants manager and, prior to her time with the city, she held communications roles with the University of Alabama as well as with nonprofit organizations.
Bridger Gilmore also holds a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Colorado Denver, and a bachelor's degree in health policy and administration from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
