Tuscaloosa Woman Dies, Two Hospitalized After Crash Near Uniontown

A Tuscaloosa woman is dead and another person hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash last week near Uniontown in Marengo County.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A Tuscaloosa woman is dead and two others hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash last week near Uniontown in Marengo County.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) says the crash occurred on U.S. Highway 80 at approximately 2:50 p.m. Thursday, April 24, when the 2009 Toyota Camry driven by Ka’myra S. Myers, 23, collided head-on with the 2011 Ford Edge driven by a man from Demopolis.

Troopers said Myers was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was transported to Whitfield Regional Hospital, where she died of her injuries. The driver of the Fore Edge was also injured and taken to the same hospital following the crash.

Another Tuscaloosa resident was a passenger in the Toyota and was injured, before being transported to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa for treatment.

The crash occurred less than one west of Uniontown and the cause remains under investigation.
