Tuscaloosa Woman Killed In Two-Vehicle Interstate Crash Near Lake View Sunday

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A Tuscaloosa woman was killed and another person injured in a two-vehicle crash early Sunday morning on Interstate 59, roughly two miles south of Lake View.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says the fatal crash occurred at approximately 2:42 a.m. Sunday when the 2021 Toyota Rav4 26-year-old Asia D. Anthony was a passenger in left the roadway and struck a parked 2024 Freightliner tactor-trailer.

ALEA Anthony was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Toyota — a Mobile resident — was injured and transported to the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Hospital in Birmingham for medical treatment.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
