U.S. Marshals Arrest Prompts Police Presence On Interstate

The Tuscaloosa Police Department says the Task Force requested the assistance of marked TPD patrol units around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday as the task force worked to apprehend a subject sought by another law enforcement agency in a neighboring county.

TPD spokeswoman Stephanie Taylor said the task force agents were traveling north on Interstate 20/59 and were planning to conduct a traffic stop when they contacted TPD.
This prompted TPD patrol units to respond to the area of Exit 73/McFarland Boulevard, with TPD units positioned to control traffic in the event of a possible pursuit.

A pursuit was avoided, however, and Task Force members arrested the individual, who was not identified by TPD in its update.
