The RISE Tournament of Champions, taking place at the NorthRiver Yacht Club in Tuscaloosa, is a four-person drop out scramble, handicaps required, with morning or afternoon tee times both days. Registration for the golf tournament starts at $2,800 for a four-person team.

“RISE has been providing services to children for over 50 years in the Tuscaloosa community and as we look to the future, we are creatively looking for ways to meet the needs of our children and families,” UA RISE Center. Andi Gillen. “In the upcoming year we hope to expand our therapeutic services to include feeding therapy and music and movement therapy for children. Additional funds raised at our fundraisers will allow us to create new programs and reach more children and families that are in need of support and therapy in our community.”

The cost per child to attend RISE five days a week exceeds $20,000 and while it receives funding from UA, an endowment and has contracts with local school systems, fundraisers like the golf tournament are crucial to the school’s success.

UA says there are eight RISE programs across the country and RISE Tuscaloosa is the only program where all children needing therapy services continue to attend RISE Center at no cost.

Organizers for the golf events point out that fundraising support has been instrumental in the program’s longevity and its ability to provide much needed early intervention services to children of varying abilities in the Tuscaloosa area.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams with the best gross and net scores.

Prizes include: televisions, paddle boards, range finders, travel golf bags, Top Golf experiences and Alabama-related memorabilia signed by head football coach Kalen DeBoer, head men's basketball coach Nate Oats and former head football coach Nick Saban.

Coach DeBoer and other UA celebrities will be on hand for the event.

Golfers will receive a gift upon check-in at the events and lunch will also be provided.
