Walker County Man Killed In Crash Near Northport Sunday

A Walker County man was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning on Alabama Highway 69, just north of Northport.

TUSCALOOSA, AL β€” A Walker County man was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning on Alabama Highway 69, just north of Northport in Tuscaloosa County.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) says Oakman resident Robert D. Odom, 53, was fatally injured when the 2012 Toyota Tundra pickup he was driving left the roadway and struck a ditch.

ALEA said Odom was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was ejected from the truck.

Odom was pronounced dead at the scene, which was roughly five miles north of Northport near the 158 mile marker.

The crash remains under investigation.
