Woman Injured In Shooting Monday Night In Tuscaloosa

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) is investigating a shooting Monday night that injured one person.

Captain Marty Sellers confirmed to Patch Tuesday morning that Tuscaloosa Police responded around 8:20 p.m. to the 4500 block of East 18th Avenue after receiving an initial report that someone had been shot.

Sellers said investigators found that an 18-year-old woman was shot by a 20-year-old ex-boyfriend, resulting in injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

He went on to say that the shooting remains under investigation and that the boyfriend was arrested on charges unrelated to the shooting.
