• Vestavia Hills youth lacrosse registration closes Dec. 31 (vestaviavoice.com) — Families in Vestavia Hills still have until Dec. 31 to register girls in grades 1-12 for youth lacrosse, though the high school boys team deadline has passed. The Vestavia Lacrosse Organization, under the city’s Parks and Recreation Board, already has strong interest and may add more boys teams if waitlists grow, so parents should act quickly. 
• Best Stories of 2025: "Commemorating 75 years of Vestavia Hills" (vestaviavoice.com) — Vestavia Hills is gearing up for its 75th anniversary with a months-long celebration highlighting how the once-rugged Shades Mountain community became a thriving city of 37,000. Longtime residents and city leaders reflect on early development, postwar growth, beloved institutions like the school system and shopping center, and the civic spirit that still draws families to put down roots here today.
• Jefferson County backs KultureCity's National Accessibility Park in Birmingham, Alabama (alabamanewscenter.com) — A Vestavia Hills–based nonprofit, KultureCity, just secured a $3.5 million Jefferson County investment toward a $60 million National Accessibility Park planned for downtown Birmingham. With backing from the state, city, and private donors, the project will add a technical college for individuals with disabilities, cultural venues, and training spaces, aiming to draw 250,000 visitors a year and boost the regional economy.
