  1. A bicyclist died this week after being struck by a vehicle near downtown Anchorage on Sunday. 83-year-old Mengli Xu was biking north on A Street when he was struck by a Subaru Forester heading west on Ninth Avenue. The driver cooperated with police and Renee Oistad, police spokeswoman, said by email Wednesday that no charges or citations had been filed. (Anchorage Daily News)
  2. AAA Alaska is hosting a Coats, Mittens & Hats Drive for Abbott Loop Elementary School. The drive will be in honor of Ruby Bridges and will support Abbott Loop Elementary. Donations can be dropped off until Nov. 17th at 317 W. 104th Avenue Suite 400 in Anchorage. (Press Release Desk)
  3. An Anchorage School Board chair ordered a citizen to stop videotaping board meetings on Monday. Anchorage School Board Chairwoman Margo Bellamy told Anchorage citizen Nial Williams that he was not allowed to videotape the meeting on Monday because doing so was bothering Sarah Davies, a staff member of Bartlett High School, who was testifying. Williams was eventually escorted out of the room and a dispute ensued between some of the board members. (Must Read Alaska)
