She shared her recovery, praised local dispatchers and medics, and reflected on how the rescue deepened her pride in living in Anchorage.
   

• 1 dead after South Anchorage mobile home fire (alaskapublic.org) — A deadly early-morning fire in a South Anchorage mobile home at Dimond Estates left one person dead, with the cause still under investigation. Anchorage Fire Department crews arrived to find half the trailer engulfed, and police have been notified of the fatality. Officials also note this is the third fatal fire in Anchorage this year.
   

• Clarkson brothers spark Grace Christian boys to upset win over Bettye Davis East basketball (adn.com) — Anchorage hoops fans just saw a big upset, as Grace Christian’s Clarkson brothers combined for 40 points to knock off reigning state champion Bettye Davis East Anchorage on the Thunderbirds’ home court. The Grizzlies controlled early, survived a late East rally, and hope this statement win propels another deep run in Alaska’s top division.
