- An Anchorage couple was sentenced Wednesday on federal drug trafficking and money laundering charges. 47-year-old May Saelee, aka “The First Lady,” was sentenced to 40 months in federal prison followed by five years of supervised release after she pleaded guilty in Aug. 2019. Saelee’s husband, Cher Vang, aka “The President,” 47, pleaded guilty in July 2019 and was sentenced to 57 months in federal prison followed by five years of supervised release. (Alaska Native News)
- An Anchorage man has died and another hunter is missing after their boat sank in bad weather on Wednesday evening near Whittier. The body of Stefan Weingarth, a 28-year-old Anchorage resident, was found Wednesday night, but 28-year-old Dillingham resident Luki Akelkok III is still missing. Witnesses in the area described the weather as 6-foot seas, 40-knot winds, and dark skies. (Yahoo)
