Here are the top stories today in Anchorage:

  1. Stretch Zone, the company that brought practitioner-assisted stretching to the public and introduced a new vertical in the health and wellness industry, is launching in Alaska with their first studio in Anchorage. The Anchorage Stretch Zone is owned by husband-and-wife duo Raymond and Suzanne Hickel, who have been involved in the health and wellness field since 1988. The new studio is located at 1320 Huffman Park Drive, Suite 140 and is open Monday through Sunday from 6 a.m. – 8 p.m. (marketscreener.com)
  2. Two Anchorage schools were placed in stay-put mode after a fight broke out involving 20 to 30 students on Monday. West High School and nearby Romig Middle School were placed in stay-put mode after a fight broke out during lunch hour, although it was not immediately clear why it started. There were no serious injuries or hospitalizations, and officials are still investigating if there were any weapons involved. (Yahoo! Sports)
  3. An Anchorage-based state trooper was arrested Monday on multiple domestic violence assault charges. Troopers said they became aware on Nov. 2 of domestic violence allegations against Garrett Willis in the Wasilla area and as police investigated, they found additional instances of domestic violence involving two other adult victims from 2018, 2019 and 2020 in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough and Kenai. Willis was arrested on two counts of second-degree domestic violence assault and three counts of third-degree and fourth-degree domestic violence assault. (Alaska Public Media News)
