  1. Anchorage Community Development Authority (ACDA), along with EasyPark, are encouraging residents to brighten Anchorage with holiday cheer during the City of Million Lights’ program. Now through New Year's, residents are encouraged to participate by decorating their homes or offices with lights and decorations. Participants can submit a photo to EasyPark’s Facebook page for a chance to win coupons and gift cards in weekly drawings from the Dimond Center and downtown restaurants, as well as free parking from EasyPark for downtown Anchorage. (Anchorage Press)
  2. An Anchorage man has been charged by information on two counts of wildlife trafficking misdemeanors for violating the Marine Mammal Protection Act. Uzi Levi, 70, purchased six non-handicrafted Pacific walrus tusks and one three-tusked non-handicrafted Pacific walrus head mount from an undercover U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service special agent, all of which is in violation of the act. He is scheduled to make his initial court appearance on Dec. 6 before U.S. Magistrate Judge Matthew M. Scoble of the U.S. District Court for Alaska and if convicted, faces a maximum penalty of one year in prison. (Alaska Native News)
  3. The Food Bank of Alaska, the faith community, and volunteers helped distribute frozen turkeys and other meal preparations on Monday, as a part of their annual Thanksgiving Blessing food distribution. The event took place across five locations in Anchorage and one in Eagle River, supporting those in the local community. Thousands of people in need are impacted by the annual food distribution and will now have the opportunity to prepare a holiday meal. (Yahoo)
