  1. A routine Anchorage Assembly work session on the city’s shelter operations was thrown into disarray when news surfaced that a key player in Mayor Dave Bronson’s response to homelessness had resigned. John Morris, an anesthesiologist who has served as the city’s homeless coordinator since July, confirmed that he had resigned last Monday. He declined to comment any further and would not say why he quit. (Alaska Public Media)
  2. Catch a ride on a comet with the Rosetta planetarium show at the Anchorage Museum. The film discusses the comet phenomenon, the mission of the Rosetta probe, and the questions humanity seeks answers to far away among the stars. The show runs from Nov. 2 to Nov. 30; tickets cost $6 plus museum admission. (Anchorage Museum)
  3. A bicyclist struck by a vehicle near downtown Anchorage has suffered life-threatening injuries. Officers were called to the intersection of Ninth Avenue and A Street on Sunday afternoon after the accident. The bicyclist was then taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver stayed on the scene and cooperated with all investigations; no arrests were made that night. (Anchorage Daily News)
