- In an effort to encourage more Alaskans to get their COVID-19 vaccine, the Alaska Chamber wrapped up a sweepstakes program last week. Over the course of eight weeks, starting in September, the chamber awarded almost $1 million to around two dozen vaccinated Alaskans. However, it’s unclear how effective the program has been at increasing Alaska’s vaccination rate. (Alaska Public Media)
- An Anchorage man who falsely claimed to be a licensed contractor and U.S. Marine Corps veteran has been ordered by an Alaska Superior Court judge to pay $75,000 in civil penalties and more than $13,000 in restitution for violations of the state’s Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Act.
