AZ Rep Gallego Hurls Expletives At NRA, Ted Cruz After Texas Shooting
Ruben Gallego had some harsh words for the NRA and Ted Cruz after a shooting at a Texas school left 21 people dead.

ARIZONA — U.S. Rep. for Arizona Ruben Gallego had some harsh words for both the National Rifle Association and U.S. Sen Ted Cruz, of Texas, following a school shooting in Texas that left 19 children and two adults dead.
The shooting in Uvalde, Texas Tuesday was the deadliest elementary school shooting in the country since the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut in 2012, according to the New York Times.
Shortly after news of the shooting broke, Cruz tweeted that he and his wife were, "fervently lifting up in prayer the children and families in the horrific shooting in Uvalde."

Gallego, a Democrat, responded to Cruz's tweet by lobbing an expletive at him and tweeting, "you care about a fetus but you will let our children get slaughtered."
Cruz, a Republican, is both pro-life and a staunch supporter of the second amendment.

Gallego also directed the same expletive at the National Rifle Association.
In the past several years, public figures who have spoken of their prayers about school shootings have been criticized for not taking any action to stop gun violence in the U.S.
After a shooting at a supermarket in Colorado last year that left 10 people dead, Cruz argued against lawmakers there that gun control was not the answer. He added his opinion that gun control does not stop crime, but said "it makes it worse."
In another tweet on Tuesday, Gallego lamented the lives lost to gun violence at the Texas elementary school as well as in another shooting at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York on May 14.
"We have surrendered our communities and our children to an endless parade of tragedy," Gallego tweeted. "Enough with the thoughts and prayers: we must take action and confront gun violence."
